Cuatro Manos

Location: Loire Valley, France
Founded in 2015 by Vincent Wallard

From curator Siôn Iorwerth:

"Vincent Wallard has been a prominent figure in the natural wine movement for well over a decade, having helped Les Caves de Pyrène open London’s Terroir in 2008, before moving to Argentina to begin his winemaking project Cuatro Manos. After a few years of working harvest and making wine in both Argentina and France, he finally settled in the Loire Valley, where he’s both purchasing fruit and renting and farming a few parcels, most notably from Jérôme Balmet in South Beaujolais and Jérôme Lenoir of Domaine Les Roches in Chinon.

Cue our introduction to Vincent: he recently bought a house in Berrie, only a few steps away from François Saint-Lô’s cellar on the Rue des Belles Caves and home to a tightly knit community of makers whom we met last year. Thanks to Alex and François an introduction was made, and we were able to secure a small shipment of wines from Vincent, a producer that we have long coveted. The connections within the natural wine community that we often speak of are clear in these wines.

François’s partner Marie helped Vincent wax and label all the bottles we have received, and the labels themselves were illustrated by the talented Louise Sheeran, whose art adorns the walls of Terroir, Brawn, and even the walls of my home. On this inaugural shipment, we have a great mix of cuvées: energetic and fresh Gamays, a wildly delicious Grolleau bottled only in magnums and a special vertical of Cab Francs, spanning from 2015 up until the 2019 vintage."
