"I first met Noel Diaz at the fourth Brumaire wine fair in Oakland a few years ago. He was very excited to be there, and his genuine enthusiasm came across in the wines: brightly colored, with fresh acidity and fun to drink, these wines were a revelation to me. I didn’t know there were Californian wines being made in this way. They were very off-kilter renditions of typical varieties such as Syrah, Viognier, and Mourvedre. Noel is a fan of carbonic maceration, and his wines are consequently very fruit-forward, possessing that little tickle of energy that dances across your pallet.
Noel started making wine in 2013 and since 2017 he has been taking on leases and farming organic vineyards in places such as Calaveras, Mendocino, and Contra Costa Counties with the goal of someday owning a more permanent piece of land – the price of which is very high in California these days.

Noel makes his wines in a warehouse space in Richmond, CA, where he’s created a collective of natural winemakers who all ferment under one roof. Attached to the space is a bar called ‘The Study,’ in which Noel curates a ‘00’ only wine list, where he’s also able to showcase the wines of the collective.
We’ve imported 7 wines on this first shipment, each one encapsulating the Californian sunshine."
